For the resources on the NARA website, you will need to either prove the death of the incarceree (death cert, picture of a gravestone, SSDI, etc.) or have the person fill out the form themselves, or have them complete a notarized power of attorney.


 How to order camp files

1. Go to:

https://aad.archives.gov/aad/

2. Type in the name of the family member you are trying to find.

3. Fill out WRA Evacuee Case File Request form.

4. Mail request to:

Old Military and Civil Branch, Textual Archives Services Division, 
National Archives and Records Administration
700 Pennsylvania Ave., NW
Washington, DC 20408

OR scan and email to:

Archives1reference@nara.gov


How to order Alien Enemy files

1. Go to:

https://www.archives.gov/research/catalog

2. Type in the name of the family member that was taken by the FBI.

3. Fill out Alien Enemy Request form.

4. Mail request to:

Civilian Branch, Textual Archives Services Division, 
National Archives and Records Administration 
8601 Adelphi Road, Suite 2600
College Park, MD 20720

OR scan and email to:

Archives2reference@nara.gov


In both cases they will send you a quote for the file. They charge 80 cents per page.
