150th Anniversary of Japanese Emigration: Internment of Japanese Americans

150 years ago, a ship arrived in Honolulu, Hawaii, from Yokohama. On the ship were 150 Japanese who only knew a world only governed by samurai. This is where a brand new life for them began. And today, the nikkei, or Japanese descendants, are celebrating their footsteps. The forefathers often encountered hardships from grueling labor at sugar plantations to the attack on Pearl Harbor and what happened after that.
